About

I never used to care about the things I put in my body. That was probably why I grew up gaining weight and losing weight and top of it all, having major stomach issues.

It's especially difficult to eat healthy when you've got a boyfriend who can eat anything he wants at any time of the day and doesn't gain a single pound or has any stomach problems.

A little over three years ago, I started working out a lot including biking, hiking, running, triathlons, etc. and I thought that with my efforts to live a healthy lifestyle, my body and mind would in turn, feel better, too.

It didn't exactly.

I still ate what I wanted, biked hard, but still felt like my body was missing something.

That is when I completely changed my outlook on food and the things I put in my body. I never realized that food (especially cooking) could be a healing option for my mind AND body.

I'm not 100% paleo, because there are things I love about certain foods, but I do know how I feel when I put something in my body. I know what works, I know what doesn't and to me, not feeling bloated, or sick, or feeling like you have to unzip your jeans after a meal, is the most important way to know that what you're putting in your body works for you.

Now I am no nutritionist, but I do love to cook. I love to cook for me. It helps heal my body and loosen my mind and when I am biking, or hiking, or swimming, or running, I am actually thinking about what I'm going to make next.

I hope you enjoy my little blog and if you have a recipe to share, I would LOVE to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by.
